Venue & Dates

The 2006 Nacra North American Championships will be held Tuesday, 15th through Friday, August 18th, 2006 and sailed on Lake Michigan in Racine, WI. USA, Sailing beach will be adjacent to the Racine Yacht Club. 

 

Organising Authority

The Organising Authority is the International Nacra Class Association (INCA) under the authority of USSAILING.

 

Rules

The 2006 Nacra North American Championships will be governed by the 2005-2008 International Sailing Federation Racing Rules, the International Nacra Class Association Rules and this Notice of Race, except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions.   The English text of this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions will prevail.

 

Eligibility

.Skipper must be a paid-up member of the International Nacra Class Association (INCA).

 

Advertising Category

The 2006 Nacra North American Championships shall rank as a Category C event in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.  The boats shall display advertising of the event sponsor (s) as required by the Organising Committee.  Individual sponsorship conflicting with the event sponsor's business category shall not be allowed. Mailed entries shall be made on the Official Entry Form only.

Fees

Registration fees are refundable until August 1, 2006 and will be as follows:

 

$300.00 USD            Double-handed boat

$235.00 USD            Single-handed boat 

 

The registration fees are payable to John Johnson (CRAW) by: Travellers Cheque, Bank Draft, or US Dollars.   Registration fees may also be paid online via Pay Pal and Major Credit card at  http://nacraclass.com/NCW2006/north_american.htm

 

Registration Fees must be included with mailed entry forms and sent to  INCA C/O John Johnson. The method of payment shall be shown on the entry form.  Payments that have been mailed should be received by August 1, 2006 (close of mailed entries) and shall include the official form of entry. 

 

All entries postmarked after August 1, 2006 will be accessed a late registration fee of $50.00 USD.

 

Boats

All Nacra boats must be class legal. All Nacra Formula 18 boats shall sail under the Nacra F18 rules.

 

Sails

All sails must be class legal Nacra sails manufactured by a Performance Catamarans, Inc Licensee for Nacra. North America. All boats must adhere to class rules and measurements, are subject to official verification at anytime.

 

Fleets

Five Nacras (model) constitute a Nacra North America Championship Fleet. Eight Nacras (model) or more will have its own start. All Nacras (model) less than five boats will be scored as a Portsmouth Fleet.

 

Competitor’s Insurance

Each competitor must show proof of Liability Insurance with a minimum coverage in the amount of $300,000 USD that is valid while sailing in the United States. Competitors with foreign issued insurance policies must show proof that their insurance is valid while competing in the United States. Competitor’s proof of insurance and coverage must be provided at registration. . Anyone chartering a boat from Performance Catamarans, Inc. or a private individual must purchase Borrowed Boat and Liability Insurance at registration

Registration will also be available on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 if you are participating in Catfight VII. 

 

Teams must register on site during the times indicated. Failure to do so may result in ineligibility to sail in the event.

Scoring System: The low point scoring system will apply:  ISAF RR Appendix A .

 

Sailing Instructions: The sailing instructions will be made available at registration.

 

Trophies

  Awards will be presented for the 2006 Nacra North America Championships as follows:

  The overall winner in each class shall be declared the 2006 Nacra North America Champion.

 A trophy shall be awarded, one per every five boats pre-registered in the Championship Fleet.

Nacra Formula 18Class also shall be awarded one special trophy for the I-18, F18 & F18 Infusion Class.
